I think I might have a split personality.

I'm a little ashamed to admit to that, being a Christian and all. Especially because I think others might know.

Here's why I'm suspicious: The other night I had a program to run at my church. As I was busy setting up chairs and getting ready, one of the church members came in a few minutes early. Now, she's always early. Never late. A very helpful person, considerate and selfless...And always gets under my skin-ever since I've known her! So my immediate greeting was not warm and friendly. Nor was I appreciative and kind when she started helping me set up. In fact, I think I may have been somewhat curt and abbreviated in conversation, perhaps even unkind.

PowerPoint Quick Tips


  • To make sure your slides are readable, measure the width of the copy on your computer screen, then step back eight times that dimension. If you can read it without strain, the text will probably be legible when projected.

    Church Spotlight: Pleasent Valley Church in Boring, OR.
    We started out using multimedia just to project the words to songs up on the screen for everyone to see. Now we have grown our department to about 5 volunteers who help put our program together each week. We have two unobtrusive digital video cameras mounted on the back wall that are remotely run from the multimedia room. The signal is passed through a switcher and then out to our big screen TV in our overflow area. We also put together worship slides for the song lyrics, preaching and announcements. We currently use PowerPoint as our presentation tool in which Oxygen integrates very well. Oxygen is so simple to use and the templates and illustrations are outstanding. We try to provide our congregation with multimedia that pleasantly enhances the worship time without detracting from the message.
