LOOKING AHEAD:
YEAR-ROUND PASSION
by Renée Harms
"He is risen!"
Easter has passed, but these words are still resounding in our ears, in our churches and in our hearts. They are words that fill the dark places of our lives with hope and promise.
I will never forget the emotion I experienced watching the last few moments of "The Passion of the Christ". I had just spent over two hours witnessing Mel Gibson's representation of the excruciating, incomprehensible suffering of Jesus. It was almost too much to bear as the reality of Christ's suffering was brought into perspective for me.
But then…then came Sunday. As I sat watching the closing scenes, tears still wet on my cheeks from viewing the Crucifixion, the picture started changing. The light of dawn appeared and grew brighter; I saw an empty cloth lying in the tomb; and then appeared a man-Jesus-looking very much alive, very much at peace, and very triumphant. And at that moment, I could hardly keep myself from jumping out of my seat and shouting, "HALLELUJAH!"

Now Presenting: Screen calibrationKeeping Your Presentation in Focus
As I looked at my notes for this month's newsletter, I realized that last month I left everyone with the impression that April's lesson lab would focus on advanced PowerPoint techniques.
As I was deciding which direction to take the article, I received an email from a pastor who was having a hard time finding the safe areas of his screen. His PowerPoint slides were not working as well on the large screen as they were on his desktop.
After pondering the gentleman's predicament, I realized that many pastors and church media workers are left without the basic tools to calibrate their screens properly. Sure, most projectors come with some basic form of calibration, but they rarely explain how to use it successfully. Most people do not know the difference between title safe and action safe or how changing locations can distort the image and bend the picture. This month I thought it would be a good idea to offer our customers a tool that is both effective and simple to use.
I invite you to take a look at our Oxygen screen calibrator and its included instructions. I am certain that, with this tool, your days of wavy lines and bent slides will be no more. Learn to use this calibrator and watch everything come into focus!
